Cobun Zweifel-Keegan is the Managing Director for Washington, D.C. of IAPP, a global nonprofit professional association. Through this role, Cobun works to integrate the diverse voices of professionals at the cutting edge of digital governance into the evolving U.S. tech policy conversation, engaging with business representatives, civil society, policymakers, and government stakeholders. As a privacy and consumer protection lawyer, Cobun writes and speaks frequently about responsible data governance, with a focus on the role of professionals, enforcement, and independent accountability mechanisms in the spread of privacy best practices. Emerging technologies, including immersive tech, are one focal point of Cobun’s work, which includes scholarship on how to adapt privacy best practices to new modalities.
