Mike Merchant

Founder & CEO, Codazen

Mike Merchant is the Founder and CEO of Codazen, and he wants to turn your web browser into Tony Stark’s computer. He believes AR glasses are the next computing platform, and that the Immersive Web—where traditional websites evolve into spatial, interactive experiences—is the killer app that will drive adoption.

Codazen is a long-time engineering and innovation partner to Meta, contributing to immersive experiences, AI-enhanced interfaces, and next-gen web infrastructure. Mike’s team created Ready3D, a platform that brings XR to standard web content, and is building tools that use generative AI to automate design and layout, making spatial experiences more accessible to brands and creators.

Codazen is currently running pilot projects in industries like real estate and tourism, collaborating with early adopters to explore how immersive digital experiences can transform the way people engage with properties and destinations.

Mike began coding at age 12. By 15, his work was featured in a published programming book after an author discovered a Tetris clone he had built. Before founding Codazen, he led large-scale software initiatives at Kaiser Permanente and Southern California Edison.

He is a member of the XR Association (XRA), the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), the International Executive Council (IEC), the Internet Marketing Association (IMA), and the CEO Leadership Alliance of Orange County (CLA-OC). Mike lives in Southern California with his wife and four children—and believes the future of the internet isn’t flat. It’s dimensional.
